Advantages of the Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP) comparing with RPC Protocol

A computer program can call a procedure or subprogram located on the same host and also on remote machines connected via a network. The mechanism to call a program on another machine is called Remote Procedure Call or RPC. There are a number of RPC technology available in the industry. In this report, we will introduce RPC technology and later focus on the original and popular implementation of RPC, ONC RPC and the new comer in the RPC market, SOAP (Simple Object Access Protocol).
