Message from the WSNet Workshop Co-chairs

W elcome to WSNET 2006, the International Workshop on Wireless and Sensor Networks to be held in conjunction with the 35 th International Conference on Parallel Processing. The research on ad hoc and sensor networks has experienced an explosive growth in the past decade. Without the need of a fixed infrastructure, ad hoc and sensor networks can be deployed quickly and inexpensively. Today ad hoc and sensor networks have become an enabling wireless technology for many commercial and military applications. This workshop intends to bring together the leading researchers and practitioners in this field to exchange and share the research findings and prospects of ad hoc and sensor networks. A total of twenty two papers were submitted to the workshop in response to the Call for Papers. Each paper was reviewed by three program committee members. The decision on the acceptance of papers are primarily based on the reviewer's input. In case if multiple papers received the similar review scores, the final decision was made by the Workshop co-Chairs. As a result, a total of eleven papers were selected for presentation in three sessions at WSNET 2006. We hope you will find the workshop to be both informative and enjoyable.
