Withtheability toexecute morethanonethread parallelly, themulti-core processor isclaimed todeliver greater performance formultithreaded applications. Theperformance ofthreadscheduler inJavaVirtual Machinehasaprofound impact ontheperformance ofmultithreaded Javaapplications. However, thelackofefficient thread scheduler inJavaVirtual Machinecreates burdeninscheduling threads intoparallel processors. Various enhancements onthread scheduler inJVM areproposed toboost uptheperformance ofJavaapplications ondual-core processor. Affinity scheduling mechanism yields a 4% ofthroughput improvement. Priority scheduling mechanism helps inreducing theoverhead incurred by23.1%. Theseresults shownthemechanisms suggested areefficient indelivering better performance ondual-core processor.
