For smaller organizations, thesebenefits are no less significant, but smaller organiza-tions often operate under different constraints. For a small organization to introduce and sustain aprocess improvement initiative, it must minimize thelimitations of its smaller size and maximize the bene-fits inherent in its culture. In this article, we describe anapproach to SPI that has been used successfully in anorganization of approximately 150 software engineers. Our approach involved as many software engineers aspossible while avoiding disruption to ongoing projects.
