Construction and application of the expert system o f diagnosis for orchard pests and diseases

As the rapid growth in computer technology, agricul tural informatization is becoming a powerful tool t hat overcomes the weakness of conventional agriculture, and the agricultural expert system will be the imp ulsive factor as well. The expert system of diagnosis for orchard pests and diseases developed in this paper is base d on the research in expert system, production rule reasonin g, Web technology etc.,integrating the characterist ic of pomology. This system combines the knowledge framework of orc hard pests and diseases diagnosis with expert syste m technology, enabling the users to diagnose orchard pests and diseases, and acquire the related informa tion and controlstrategies of these pests and diseaseswhich has highly comprehensiveness and value in use. Usin g this system, the level of prevention from diseases will be impro ved, so will the agricultural technology.It can als o prevent or reduce disaster losses, and then improve the econom ic, ecological and social benefits.
