Although anall-in-focus image canbegenerated bymosaickingallthebest focused regions ofasequence ofacquired images taken underdifferent focal settings, anevenbetterresolved result canbeobtained withthose discarded lessfocused regions which actually contain moreuseful information.Thispaperpresents amethodtoestimate anall-infocus andsuper-resolved image ofascene fromasequence of suchimages. Theproposed method applies mosaicking and super-resolution techniques simultaneously toiteratively reconstruct abetter image byblind trellis searching. Partitioningimages into small blocks makesthenewmethod parallel andfast overblocks. Withourregularized approach, ahigh resolution imagecanbeefficiently estimated bothintheunderdetermined caseandinthecasewithregistration errors. Index Terms-Super-resolution, omnifocus, mosaicking
