Welcome to CRiSIS 2008

2008

Each time the support of information has changed, humanity has made profound evolutions: think to the passage from pictures to writing and from writing to printing. We are in such a revolution and the amount of digital information available and the computational capabilities become something difficult to imagine only a few years ago. In this strongly renewed context, security and risk turn also to a completely different dimension. This leads to new fundamental scientific questions, many of them motivated by strong needs from the societal and industrial communities. So we have seen these last ten years the emergence of many new conferences on these topics and the number of published papers on security has grown considerably. The role of conferences like CRiSIS is therefore fundamental to make possible high quality communications between attendees, to contribute to the training of young researchers and to have scientists attracted by this field of researches. CRiSIS 2008 will held in Tozeur, Tunisia and is the third issue of a series of conferences previously organised in Bourges, France (2005) and Marrakech, Morrocco (2007). An international program committee has selected 25 full papers and 10 short papers out of 59 submissions from more than 20 countries. Each paper has been carefully reviewed by at least three reviewers. The conference program includes two excellent keynote speeches and a tutorial. The success of CRiSIS 2008 conference is attributed to many individuals who have devoted their time and effort toward completion of various and tedious tasks. We would like to thank all the authors who submitted papers to this conference. We would like to express our sincere appreciations to the members of program committee and organization committee, as well as the external reviewers for their hard work. We also thank IEEE Tunisia section and the national agency for computer security for their professional services in supporting this event. We wish you a nice stay in Tozeur.
