Application ofchaotic modulation toacmotors for harmonic suppression

Shanghai KeyLaboratory · 2006

Instead ofavoiding theoccurrence ofchaosinmotor Thekeyoftheproposed lowEMImodulation strategy isto drives, chaos ispositively utilized inthis paper. A newchaoticadoptthechaotic sequence togenerate PWM patterns sothat pulsewidthmodulation (PWM)schemeisproposed and theperiodicity ofthepowerspectrum ofthemotorcurrent can implemented foracmotors, whichfunctions tosignificantly bedisrupted andamoreevenly distributed current spectrum suppress theharmonic peaks andhence theacoustic noise. The withlower harmonic peakscanbeobtained. Inthis paper, an keyistoemploy theChua's circuit forgeneration ofthedesiredanalogue chua's circuit showninFig. 1hasbeenimplemented chaotic sequence. By usinga practical induction motor, both toobtain thenecessary chaotic sequence. Thechua's circuit computersimulation andexperimental results verify thatthec chaotic PWM takesdefinite advantages overtheconventional PWM andrandomPWM, namelytheharmonic peaksuppression diL I andsimple hardware implementation.. - - Vc2 dit L Keywords-Chaotic modulation; Chua's circuit; Harmonic dVC2 I C (G) suppression
