VEHICLES EXTRACTION USING SPATIAL DIFFERENTIATION AND SUBTRACTION

In this paper, the authors describe a vehicle extraction method that uses initial background image generation, background update, and spatial differentiation. Experimental applications to a rainy dusk scene of an expressway yield an accuracy rate higher than 95% in traffic flow measurements.
