More About Android Application Components

Sean Liao · Apress eBooks · 2014

We have used activity to create ADT projects with a user interface. To launch these apps, users simply go to the application launcher, find the app icon, and tap the icon to start the app. The application launcher is actually a system built-in app with a user interface that allows users to select the app by tapping the launch icons to start the app. (In iOS, it is called the Home screen or the Springboard ). Technically speaking, in Android, you don’t say, “Launch an application from the system application launcher.” Instead, you should say, “Activate an application component.” These keywords were added by machine and not by the authors. This process is experimental and the keywords may be updated as the learning algorithm improves.
