Generation of Structured Meshes Over Complex Surfaces

B. Morin, V. Tréguer-Katossky · 1993

A new method for generating structured 2D meshes over assemblies of geometrical patches is presented. The emphasis is on the storage of topological informations into the “Complex Surface” data structure, allowing gaps and overlaps between the patches. The structured grid is generated over a coarse unstructured mesh, in such a way that every grid point lay on the true surface. The steps in the generation of a structured mesh covering a part of a fuselage are shown as an example.
