A kind of performance evaluation for communication network is presented. In our work, a distributed evaluation system via High Level Architecture (HLA) and a novel quantitative evaluation method are proposed to evaluate communication network on-line. During the weight determination process, a combinative method based on the principle of maximum deviation and subjective estimation is proposed to overcome the weakness of subjectivity from the method of expert consultant. And an evaluation model based on the TOPSIS is provided to evaluate the performance of communication network. The experiments of communication survivability evaluation are executed on the distributed performance evaluation system. During the experiment, four types of Tactical Data Link are employed under the destruction experiment. The evaluation results with analysis show that the proposed method is satisfactory and the evaluation results are reasonable. With the rapid development of the Communication network, evaluation technique has become one of the most important techniques to ensure high performance of communication network. The motivation of this paper is to provide a kind of performance evaluation technique for Communication network. During our work, a distributed simulation system for Communication network evaluation based on High Level Architecture (HLA) is built, and a novel evaluation method is proposed. During the evaluation process, a combinative weight determination method based on the principle of maximum deviation and the subjective estimation is proposed to overcome the weakness of subjectivity from the method of expert consultant, and an evaluation model based on the TOPSIS is provided to evaluate the survivability. This paper is organized as follows: After describing the overall distributed communication performance evaluation system in section II, we demonstrate the weight determination method in section III. And the evaluation model is described in Section IV. Section V illustrates experiment results. The experiment results show that the evaluation method is more objective and reasonable than the method of expert consultant, and it also keep the subjectivity, which exists in the practical evaluation process. We conclude this paper in Section VI.
