A budget supercomputer: implementation and application

This paper presents an overview of the implementation and current application of the Peninsula Technikon's first cluster-based supercomputer. The cluster consists of 18 off-the-shelf, diskless PC's and 1 controller/master high-end PC. The approach taken for implementing this budget supercomputer is discussed
