Electronic data interchange (EDI) offers a telecommunications infrastructure for inter-business communications. This paper proposes AI-based extensions of EDI to facilitate doing business on an international scale. The authors focus on two aspects of this problem: dealing with multi-lingual communications and coping with the red tape of international trading.>
