We describe Ayudame, a system designed to recognize and translate Spanish emergency calls for better dispatching. We analyze the research challenges in adapting speech translation technology to 9-1-1 domain. We report our initial research in 9-1-1 translation system design, ASR experiments, and utterance classification for translation. 1
