Fast GF ( p ) modular inversion algorithm suitable for VLSI implementation

A new, efficient algorithm for modular inversion in Galois field GF( p) is presented. Very large scale integration (VLSI) implementation of the algorithm is described and the high performance and low silicon penalty is demonstrated.
