On the Matrix Adjoint (Adjugate)

A unified treatment of rank, eigenvalues, minimal polynomial, minors and factorizations of the adjoint is given. The roles of the adjoint in determinantal identities and the adjoints of characteristic matrices and modified matrices are discussed.
