Data Dependence Analysis on Trapezoidal Regions

Traditional dependence analysis methods can detect dependencies in rectangular and trapezoidal regions on a dimension-by-dimension basis. When the array references being tested contain coupled subscripts, the Lambda test produces more accurate results. The Lambda test superiority disappears when trapezoidal loops are involved. In this article we extend the Lambda test so that it provides precise dependence information in the presence of coupled subscripts on trapezoidal iteration spaces.
