Two-stage blind identification of SIMO systems with common zeros

Blind identification of SIMO systems is dependent on identi-fiability conditions which include the requirement that there are no common zeros between multiple channels. We demonstrate that common zeros are likely to exist for long channels, such as acoustic impulse responses and we illus-trate the performance degradation due to common zeros in blind system identification. Subsequently, we propose a new scheme where the characteristic zeros components of the transfer functions are identified using a blind multichannel method and the common zeros component is obtained with a single channel approach. 1.
