Latent image fading in mammography

A Burch, John Adam Law · British Journal of Radiology · 1996

The subject of latent image fading in mobile mammographic screening featured in correspondence some time ago [1,2]. It has been shown that the rate of image fade varies between differenct film types [2,3], and we have recently attempted to quantify this effect for some newer types of mammography film, namely Kodak MinRE and Fuji MIMA and UMMA, with interesting results. A set of films of each type was exposed at intervals with a green light sensitometer at intervals and stored at ordinary dark room temperatures.
