In-system programmability-the third wave of programmability

J. Tomlinson · Proceedings of WESCON '93 · 2002

Possibly the most significant element of design flexibility in CMOS PLDs is the concept of in-system programmable and reprogrammable (ISP) PLDs. This concept is being pioneered primarily with High-Density PLDs and FPGAs. This paper is devoted to discussing the various design issues associated with in-system reprogrammable FPGAs.
