A high-level block-diagram signal processing language

Gary E. Kopec · 2005

The model of discrete-time computation underlying most block diagram languages makes them inappropriate for many important signal processing algorithms. A conceptual framework for a general high-level block diagram programming system is proposed. This framework, the closure model, is motivated by the representation of functions used in applicative languages such as LISP. An experimental block diagram language, BDL, based on this model is described.
