Resolution and sampling rate needed for quantisation of a narrowband signal in wideband noise

It is investigated how large the input noise to a quantiser can be with respect to the quantisation interval and the input noise bandwidth with respect to the sampling rate in order that quantisation noise does not degrade a system's signal/ noise ratio more than a specified amount.
