Millimeter-wave System For The Real-time On-board Acquisition Of The Vehicle Lateral Position

This paper presents an on board multiprocessor millimeter-wave radar system for the real-time acquisition of a vehicle's lateral position. The system consists of an FM-CW radar with a 35 GHz carrier frequency and passive reflectors located along the motorway structure to obtain a reference line. The real-time multiprocessor system is devoted to control the radar system and to detect and filter out false alarms.
