Efficient hardware decoding method for modified Huffman code

A hardware decoder using an efficient decoding method for the modified Huffman code is illustrated. The decoding method can be realised by simple hardware thus enabling the whole data compression unit to be incorporated as a peripheral device for a microcontroller.
