Human eye-head coordination to follow fast moving objects: an output tracking explanation
Jorge Mari · 2002
The problem addressed in this paper arises when modeling the coordination effort performed by the eye and head in order to track with the sight a fast moving object. Using a very simple mechanical model it is shown how to apply the theory of asymptotic output tracking combined with some optimization tools in order to produce the control effort required to closely track the object. The results obtained can be used to aid in understanding the actual neuromuscular activity in human head-eye coordination.
