In this paper, unique features of Motion-JPEG2000 is introduced from many perspectives such as application and market, comparison with other standards, requirements, compression performance compared with Motion JPEG and file format. Since Motion-JPEG2000 guarantees backward compatibility with JPEG-2000 part-1 the market is expected to match.
