A protocol has been defined to be. used in a dedicated system for gatherng biosignals from multiple surface electrode sights over a local area network (LAN). This protocol will be used to support multiple simultaneusly functioning channels connected serally along a single wire. The devce is . designed to transmit data usng a hLghly efficient data conversion and collec tion technique that eliminates cocerns over data collisions, and deals wlth the inaccuracy of transmitted information due to spurious noise problems and unwanted variances in experimental results. The goal of this system design is to develop a communication protocol that will be integral to a simple and portable system operating over a single transportation medium.
