A Toll-Quality 8 Kbps Speech Coder for PCS Applications
D. Lin · 2005
This paper describes a toll-quality 8 Kbps speech coding algorithm that can fuffill the major service requirements of wireless PCs. The proposed CELP coder uses a large ternary innovation, codebook, which is formed as the sum of two overlapping binary codebooks. The coder also incorporates a novel method of vector quantization for the LSP paremeters, as well as method of adaptive pitch post-filter. The low complexity level of the coder allows a single chip fixed point DSP implementation.
