Phase transition from periodic to quasiperiodic behaviour in 4D cellular automata

We have found a phase transition from periodic to quasiperiodic behaviour in four-dimensional cellular automata by mixing rules. As far as we know, this kind of phase transition has not been studied before, and may thus serve as a pilot case.
