QSUP: A supporting environment for preserving quality standards
Michalis Xenos, P. Thanos, Dimitris Christodoulakis · 1996
This paper presents QSUP, a programming environment enhanced with measurement facilities. Its prime aim is to support preserving software quality standards by the programmers. QSUP offers low level information (raw metric data), as well as high level information such as advice in natural language on quality improvement of the project or a particular routine. The environment presented in this paper allows programmers to use a default quality assurance programme with predefined metrics and acceptable measurement ranges, or to customise this programme in order to fulfil their particular needs. Metrics used in this environment and the interpretation theory applied to finally produce advice in natural language are presented in this paper, along with environment architecture and functionality.
