Although machine/program independent data description languages are difficult to achieve, there is no argument relative to the goals. This agreement as to goals is generally non-existent among those who seek to implement data manipulation languages (DML). The major issues in DML development manifest themselves in the entire spectrum of environment from usage to input/output processing.
