On the quality of service and pricing in a multiservice network
Tiina Heikkinen · 2002
The purpose of the paper is to study the quality of service in a multiservice network that is operated in a distributed manner. The way of guaranteeing the existence of a decentralized price equilibrium under uncertain link gain coefficients is based on applying A. Prekopa's (1973) theorem on logconcave distributions. Parameterized concavity of the distribution of the uncertain link gain coefficients is a sufficient condition for the existence of a decentralized solution. The paper discusses a linear congestion pricing scheme for the optimal distributed control of a multi-service network. The framework of analysis is the uplink in a wireless multimedia network.
