1996 IEEE INTERNATIONAL FREQUENCY CONTROL SYMPOSIUM SPUR REDUCTION TECHNIQUES IN SINE OUTPUT DIRECT DIGITAL SYNTHESIS
Jouko Vankka · 1996
This paper reviews the spur reduction tech- niques used in the sine output direct digital synthesizers (DDSs). In each method the spur reduction properties and trade-offs are investigated. The analysis is restricted only to phase and amplitude quantization errors. Three novel spur reduction methods in the DDS will be presented: modifi- cated Nicholas phase accumulator, a high-pass filtered am- plitude dither and a tunable amplitude error feedback structure.
