Broadband Detection Based On Two-dimensional Card Models

Steven Kay, V. Nagesha · 2005

Two detectors to detect a broadband planewave in a colored noise field using a line array are described. The signal spectrum and arrival angle, as well as the noise field coloration are known a priori. Using the two-dimensional canonical autoregressive decomposition (CARD) model, a generalized likelihood ratio test and its weak-signal equivalent, the RAO test, are derived. The performances of the proposed detectors are shown by computer simulations to be superior to conventional Fourier-based methods.
