Hardware implementation of robust constrained hearing aid arrays

M.J. Link, M.W. Hoffman, K.M. Buckley · 2003

Issues concerning the implementation of a real-time adaptive spatial filter to be used as a hearing aid preprocessor are addressed. The goal of the ongoing study is the development of a robust processor that offers a user spatial selectivity and attenuation of undesired interfering sources. A real-time sum and difference generalized sidelobe canceller has been implemented and the results suggest a more general robust processor is needed. Fixed spatial filters are then designed that illustrate the advantages that can be realized using a general linearly constrained minimum variance spatial filter.>
