A chelate of ZnCl2 with ethylenediiminobisacetylacetone

Abstract Unsuccessful attempts to prepare ethylenediiminobisacetylacetonezinc led to the isolation of a novel compound ethylenediiminobisacetylacetonezinc dichloride following a procedure similar to that introduced by Ramaiah and Martin K. Ramaiah and D. F. Martin, J. Inorg. Nucl. Chem. 27, 1663 (1965). . A tentative structure of ethylenediiminobisacetylacetonezinc dichloride is proposed from UV, IR, NMR, and conductance data.
