Clustering scheme for energy conservation in two-tieredmobile ad hoc networks

A new distributed heuristic clustering scheme that minimises the required transmission power in two-tiered mobile ad hoc networks is proposed. This scheme, which can be implemented and executed in real-time, delivers performance similar to optimum results.
