Blind electromagnetic source separation and localization

Simone Fiori, Pietro Burrascano · 2003

A blind source separation algorithm is used to estimate the mixing operator from electromagnetic emission signals through independent component analysis (ICA) technique. The mixing operator contains important information about the sources' features and about the electromagnetic field propagation phenomena, thus, by properly interpreting the results given by the ICA algorithm, a blind source localization procedure is developed. This is the first step in an electromagnetic environmental pollution monitoring task.
