The panel discussion on improvisation and basso continuo originated from the evaluation of Agazzari’s and Gasparini’s sources. The panelists took into consideration different aspects: contrapuntal issues in the realization, difference between foundation- and ornamentationinstruments, the role of plucked instruments in comparison with keyboard, and teaching methods.
