CALCULATING AREAS OF IRREGULAR POLYGONS

This paper discusses an easily programmable algorithm for calculating the area of a polygonal region. The algorithm extends nicely to approximate definite integrals. The ideas are implemented on the TI-81 calculator illustrating the flexibility of the graphing calculator.
