An algorithmic procedure has been developed, suited to computer solution, for a switching function of n variables that can be synthesised by one multiplexer MUX(p, q), (n−q > l) without the necessity of referring to all the possible Ashenhurst's decomposition charts DCn(Λq|Λn−q).
