A DSSS superregenerative receiver with tau-dither loop

F. Xavier Moncunill-Geniz, Pere Palà-Schönwälder · European Conference on Wireless Technology · 2004

This paper describes a direct-sequence spread-spectrum superregenerative receiver using a PN code synchronization loop based on the tan-dither technique. The receiver minimizes overall complexity by using a single signal processing path for data detection and PN code synchronization. An analytical study on the loop dynamics is presented, and the conditions for optimum performance are examined. Experimental results in the 433 MHz European ISM band confirm the receiver ability to perform acquisition and tracking, achieving a sensitivity of -103 dBm and an input dynamic range of 65 dB.
