Some Issues For The Distributed Scheduling Problem In The M02 Distributed Real-time Object-oriented Model

Boudjema Mecibah, Ammar Attoui · 2005

The scheduling problem is viewed as being central to design distributed real-time object-oriented systems. This issue is directly related to the achievement of timeliness properties. The scheduling pnoblems are NP-complete in the general case, even for LI uniprocessor. Therefore, known usable scheduling algorithms are based on heuristics. MO2 is an objecr-oriented real-time model which integrates in the same approach, both features of DBMS and features of real-time systems. Its principal feature is the ability to distinguish passive objects and active objects. The passive objects react only through the activation of their methods. The active objects can have their own behaviour and can evolve under the solicitation of various events independently of the activation of their methods. Various timing constraints can be specified on methods or method blocks. MO2 is able to modelise software objects as well as hardware objects.
