This paper proposes a new probing-based admission control scheme in which delay is taken as important admission criterion in conjunction with packet loss rate. The delay feature obtained by probing allows end systems to detect the network state fluctuation more sensitively and quickly without overloading the network. Our proposed approach is able to not only keep very low loss rate, but also provide end-to-end delay upper bound more accurately. Simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of our approach.
