PILOT OPINION SURVEY OF A MOVING TAPE VERNIER PITCH DISPLAY CONCEPT.

The report discusses the evaluation of a moving tape vernier pitch display concept. Objective of the evaluation was to elicit opinions from pilots and engineers on: (1) the potential merit of the display concept for continued development, and (2) suggestions for improving the display format. PIS (Photographic Instrument Synthesizer) films of the pitch indicator were shown, and comments were elicited through an open-ended questionnaire. The report describes the display concept, the method employed in the evaluation, results of the questionnaire, and suggested follow-on work. (Author)
