Component technique is a direction of software developing and becomes more popular in GIS( geography information system) software developing domain as well as ot her domains such as database management and system integration ,etc. The research on GIS software integration and system st ruct ure which is based on component GIS and Web GIS in multi2tier system is now att racting t he attention of expert s in GIS software developing domain. The current of GIS software st ruct ure and model integration is discussed comprehensively in t he article. More2 over t he article st udies t he key techniques of multi2tier st ruct ure and model integration in GIS project and advances t he browser/ server st ruct ure model of multi2tier GIS in Web environment in addition to t he model integration imple2 ment in t he same st ruct ure.
