User programmable DATAFLO processing in modern telemetry systems
Galen Williamson, C. STEPHENS · 1986
This paper describes a method for providing user pro- grammability to telemetry ground stations. It describes the inadequacies of a traditional computer and proposes the use of a dataflow architecture to meet real-time processing requirements. The general characteristics of dataflow architectures are discussed along with the reasons why telemetry processing is a natural problem class to be solved using dataflow techniques. Finally, the practical application of a LORAL DATAFLOTM telemetry system is presented.
