Multi-processor distributed simulation for job-shop scheduling: Boon or bane?
Kwang-Hang Koh · International Journal of Computer Integrated Manufacturing · 1996
Two distributed simulation methods for job-shop scheduling are presented. They are based on a distributed events method and a distributed components method. Both use a direct database-simulation approach which harnesses the power of relational database technology to address the challenging requirements of job-shop scheduling. A model decomposition method and a conservative synchronization scheme associated with the distributed components method are also described. The use of a local-area-network as the communication media for the distributed system is also discussed.
