The use of interval mathematics in electromagnetic design

Gaurav Saxena, David Alister Lowther · IEEE Transactions on Magnetics · 2001

Electromagnetic devices are subject to tolerances in construction and are expected to function within particular ranges for each parameter. Interval mathematics can provide an approach to examining the performance of a device within these constraints and also for constraining the search area for an optimization process.
